We have just taken delivery of this little beauty from the team at Ancient Optics.

Originally designed by Dr. Frank G Back of Zoomar in Long Island New York and produced by Voigtländer of West Germany in 1959, this was the world's first production zoom lens for 35mm stills cameras. The lens is T3.1 with close focus of 3' and full frame coverage. There is minimal focus breathing and low chromatic aberration, the old single layer coatings deliver stunning bold golden flares and a suprisingly sharp & contrasty image for a lens of this era. It is the perfect accompaniment to our oldest prime lens sets - Cooke Speed Panchros & Canon Rangefinders
