A truly independent Rental House

No Drama was born in July 2011 from a desire to do things better for the Northern Film Industry.

From humble beginnings in a cupboard deep in Media City No Drama quickly grew to service much of the commercial and promo work outside of London always with an emphasis on giving DOPs interesting glass whilst designing the full camera package to be as comprehensive and crew-friendly as possible.

Fast forward just over 10 years and No Drama has become the go to rental house outside of London catering for Commercials, Dramas, Features, Promos and everything in between. Our equipment inventory & dedicated team of staff have expanded to a point where we can now supply more productions than any other supplier in our regions.

We have quietly spent the last decade building a solid reputation and an inventory of the very best equipment and collection of vintage, modern, spherical & anamorphic glass outside of London. We are vastly experienced in rentals and have stuck to our principals since the beginnings in the cupboard to where we are now with two branches & 10,000 sq' of warehouse and office space.

When we opened our Glasgow office in February 2020 (we didnt know what was coming........) we set out to build a stand alone branch to add to the Scottish film industry not take from it. We made significant investment in our facilities, building dedicated test rooms for projection & maintenance and re-creating our well loved open plan format prep spaces from our Salford HQ. The teams at both branches are enthusiastic and knowledgable with a wealth of on set and kit room experience between them.

We thoroughly understand the value of investing in the local industry ecosystem materially but also by working alongside local education institutions and organistations to build skills, provide training and develop future crew. Our aim is not only to provide the best equipment but to do so with a staff of trained technicians checking, testing and prepping our equipment alongside knowledgable hire desk contacts from technical service backgrounds.

Our three company directors have almost 70 years of on set and rental management experience between them, adding in our Hire Managers and Senior Technicians takes the total to over 130 years. This breadth of experience is invaluable and unusual in this day and age. Feet on the ground knowledge that has allowed us to grow slowly and carefully to this point - a company quietly built with purpose to enable our loyal customers, DOPs and camera crew to continue producing exceptional content using the very best equipment for many years to come. Below is a selection of our recent drama credits (commercials are too numerous to list.. there have been many) - we are a preferred supplier to the BBC, ITV & Sky UK.

Also listed below is a selection of our glass to drool over.... what we don't do brilliantly - lacking in an in-house marketing & web development team - is update the website super regularly so if something you are interested in is not listed on the site, do get in touch - we are adding to our stock all of the time. Most Cameras & Lenses currently stocked should be listed here.....

All of our equipment is available to test from our Manchester & Glasgow branches whenever suits - we positively encourage DOPs to come and see us, our best marketing is contained within our flight cases.
