Our Arri Alexa Minis have started to arrive at long last. We put our name down for this camera as soon as it was announced and our first camera arrived a couple of weeks ago. Since then we’ve really only scratched the surface of its versatility - it has been rigged in car for the Sky 1 drama Mount Pleasant, attached to a Libra Mini head on the back of a motorbike for Swallows & Amazons and most recently it’s tiny form factor combined with it’s true Alexa look and performance in low light made it the perfect camera to shoot new born babies for a Johnson’s commercial.

There are limitations, mainly in outputs for power, control and video. But we’ll over come these in coming weeks by building a bespoke solution similar to those we use on our RED Dragons which will truly maximize useability of the camera. We don’t see this as a camera that should be limited to being flown on handheld rigs, steadicams and drones. It is an all rounder that accessorized correctly truly expands the image potential for directors & DOPs everywhere.

A truly exceptional piece of kit.
